Falls by Orry Shand
Taking over the former Falls of Feugh restaurant near Banchory, Falls by Orry Shand is the first independent restaurant from National Chef of the Year and Great British Menu banquet winner Orry Shand. A 30-cover destination dining room serving a tasting menu, with Orry's cooking rooted in the discipline and consistency of kitchens like Andrew Fairlie's, where he trained. The setting is a dramatic riverside location that makes the connection between food and landscape impossible to miss.
Our Key Contributions
We were brought on to curate and source front-of-house tabletop, working closely with Orry and Restaurant Manager Benita Robins from an early stage. The brief was a refined but earthy aesthetic - pieces that feel considered without competing with the food.
For tableware we proposed Odd Standard for the core of service: a range of handcrafted profiles and finishes that follow the progression of the tasting menu, with texture and clay doing the work rather than decoration. Jiseungmin Ceramics brought a quieter stone beige palette for select courses, along with the full teaware suite - ensuring the close of the meal receives the same attention as the start. Cutipol runs throughout service, with a comprehensive Riedel glassware programme covering fine wine, cocktail and bar service.
For menus and bill holders we worked with Billy Tannery to develop bespoke goat leather folders in two finishes - Chestnut and Forest - lined in microfibre and debossed with the restaurant's logo. Additional pieces from Aku Ceramics and Kinto complete the collection across vases, water carafes and service trays.
Items were coordinated across multiple suppliers and shipped direct where possible, with tracking and delivery managed against the build programme. We continue to support Falls by Orry Shand with re-orders and ongoing tabletop needs.
