NEOZ
NEOZ’s journey began far from corporate convention—in a humble farm shed nestled in the tranquil Bellingen Valley. United by a deep passion for craftsmanship and design, Anne Gothe and industrial designer Peter Ellis set out to create more than just lighting—they sought to illuminate spaces with meaning and intention.
In 1995, this vision took a pivotal turn when Peter Ellis was invited to design the lighting for Penfolds' Magill Estate restaurant in the Adelaide Hills, in collaboration with Sydney architects Allen Jack+Cottier. The brief was clear: create a cordless table lamp to allow for dynamic table arrangements—something that simply didn’t exist at the time. With no commercial battery systems available, Ellis engineered his own. The result was the now-iconic Magill cordless lamp—the very first of its kind—and with it, a new category of lighting was born.
Since that breakthrough, NEOZ has remained at the forefront of cordless lighting innovation, designing and manufacturing award-winning luminaires for restaurants, hotels, and homes around the world.
Today, NEOZ stands as a dedicated design house—engineering industry-leading lighting systems trusted by architects and interior designers across the globe. Their work continues to marry form and function, creating lighting solutions that are as technically refined as they are visually timeless.
