Founded by Maximiliano Poglia, Poglia is a collection of handcrafted knives, brass goods and leather objects rooted in old-world craftsmanship and an unwavering commitment to reclaimed materials.

Max grew up in southern Brazil, where his grandfather ran Poglia & Irmao, a family hardware store that operated for over fifty years. Glass display cases filled with tools and knives left a lasting impression, and when Max later relocated to New York - and eventually Florence - that childhood memory became the blueprint for the brand he launched in 2011.

Every Poglia piece passes through eight hands, from initial design to final polish. Blades are forged from reclaimed carbon steel salvaged from abandoned agricultural plow disks - a process that yields exceptional strength and a finish impossible to replicate. Handles are shaped from buffalo horn, cow bone and reclaimed Brazilian hickory, all agricultural byproducts sourced from local farms. The brass is sand-cast from 100% recycled material using traditional methods, while the leather is vegetable-tanned, LWG Gold certified cowhide with near-zero waste.

The result is a collection where no two pieces are alike. Carbon steel develops a natural patina over time; horn and bone react to temperature and use, ageing unpredictably. Rather than resist these changes, Poglia embraces them - every scratch and abrasion becomes a memory that gives each object its own distinct character.
